Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane ferrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the jet's front window, as stated by an announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed following established safety measures and everyone onboard, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer commented in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a American defense plane transporting a senior official has encountered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was compelled to head back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
