British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”
