FC Barcelona Set to Play First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized an open training session inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
