The former president's Granddaughter Seeks Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Prior to Professional Golf First Appearance
This young athlete boasts considerable online following
The young golfer will have numerous prominent backers as she starts her professional golf debut this Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, received a sponsor's invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns several international courses and often plays against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have tight competitions," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, advised her: "Simply stay calm."
"My grandpa practically suggested to compete and have fun," she explained.
"In my eyes, he's simply a regular grandfather. He can't make it this weekend. He's busy with world affairs, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in just three tournaments in 2024 and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she can seek guidance from golf legend, romantically involved with her mother.
"He represents the greatest golfer in the world," the young golfer said.
"And he's an even better human being. He suggested me to compete, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."
The golfer will compete against multiple most prominent players in women's golf at this tournament, including world number two the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
The LPGA commented that involving Kai exposes the sport to wider groups, particularly with the next generation.
Kai maintains substantial online presence and has started an exclusive clothing and lifestyle brand.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
